Who is the League of Creative Introverts for?
I'm liking the group so far! It's definitely a lot more comfortable and intimate than some other Facebook groups.
I love this community because I know it's a safe space. Sharing my work, asking questions, and answering others peoples' questions can be terrifying, but knowing that everyone in this group feels the exact same way makes it a lot easier.
"It's inspiring to see the success of other introverts when so much 'must do' advice for online success is pretty terrifying! It makes me more confident in doing things my own way and owning my introvert-ness instead of seeing it as a challenge to overcome.
It's also great to find advice tailored specifically for introverts and help to move through our specific 'blocks' to doing certain things."
~ Laura Williams
"What I love about this community is that it isn’t a big loud group, but at the same time, it isn’t like other groups for introverts. In the other groups I’ve joined, the atmosphere was kind of discouraging. As if being an introvert was an excuse not to leave your comfort zone and follow your dreams, because putting yourself out there isn’t an 'introvert thing'.
Here you can hang out with people who are just as scared as you, but they they’re doing it anyway, and that’s really empowering."
~ Veronika Palovska
"The LCI is a great space full of people to bounce ideas off of, share with, receive encouragement from, and bond with. When the majority of my brain is filled with thoughts of what I'd rather be doing-reading, sewing, baking-it's a community for me to share that with, too. They get it! They aren't likely to gasp in disbelief when I mention that I'd rather be coding, either!
Our strong talents complement each other and we are able to use that to our advantage. I can ask for advice and receive suggestions for what I, as an introvert, can actually do rather than getting some wild and crazy extroverted suggestion!"
~ Amber Roberts
"I love how this group is so welcoming and supportive. It's scary sharing my work due to both introversion and a lack of confidence, but everyone has been so lovely! It's nice to know that I'm not the only introvert in the world too. It's awesome knowing there's a group of similarly minded people I can go to for advice about how to make my introversion work for me!"
~ Tasha Peter
Cat here! Fellow introvert (INTJ to be precise) and founder of the League of Creative Introverts.
So, why did I set up the LCI?
Well, I want to leave the world a more creative place. After noticing the link between the type of people who tend to be particularly creative and those who are introverted, I realised there's work to be done in changing the way us creative introverts get our work out to the world.
If I can help others do this - something I've struggled with myself for many years - then I will feel like I've done something positive for the world. My legacy will be a league of creative introverts who can and do show their work, and in turn, make the world a more creative place.
